Changing Names of Categories in Grocery List and Option to Rearrange Them
When I go shopping, I move through the store the same way every time. It would be nice if I could move the categories in the order I move through the store. Also, in my store, there are 3 very different aisles for snacks, it would nice if I could add the other snack aisles to the list in the order I move through the store.

You can add new categories (just select the 'Add New..' option on any of the grocery category select boxes), but you can not sort them — yet. I hope to add the sorting feature soon.

Hi Clint,
First, let me tell you that you've done an EXCELLENT job on this site, I LOVE it!!
In response, I did notice that you can "Add New" in the Pantry. Those new categories do not match the categories in the Grocery List. For example: If I add a categories to the pantry called Produce 1, Produce 2 and Produce 3, then when a recipe calls for something in produce, it puts that item in the default 'Produce' instead of 1,2 or 3. That would be no big deal if it were only one or two items to edit and put into the Produce 1,2 or 3 section, but what if it's 10 or more ingredients to edit to get them to the category you want them?

We just thought of something! What if we could edit the name of your default categories?

When you type in an ingredient on the shopping list, It should auto select the grocery category based on the popularity of your previous choices. Although this only works for ingredients in recipes. So you will not see this working on ingredients that are not in any of your recipes.
What is really missing is the ability to manage (not just add) your ingredients/categories/etc. So you could rename, sort, categorize and delete.

Okay. So this feature has been on my mind for a long time and I finally decided to knock it out. You can now rename, remove, and sort the grocery categories. Please try it out and let me know what you think!

Hi Clint! You are amazing! You care about our suggestions and take time out of your busy days to accomodate them! Thank you!
When I select "Add Category", a box comes up for me to add a category, but when I select "Manage Categores", no box comes up and nothing happens. How does it work?

Try and clear your browser cache or restart your browser. If that doesn't work let me know.

I tried what you said and still no result. Just to make sure I'm in the right place...it's the pull-down menu in the Pantry?

Did you clear your cache? http://kb.iu.edu/data/ahic.html#ie8
Do you know what browser are you using? Can you try the site in Google Chrome or Firefox? It should look like the attached image...

Ok, I switched my web browser to Firefox and I allowed plug-ins and the "Manage Categories" menu does not pop up.

I just checked the logs and found the error. It looks like it was only working when logged in as ME! It should be working now. Thanks for letting me know about this.
